Humidity & Clouds

Why won't the laundry dry? 🌡️ Measure humidity using a psychrometer! As the wet cloth dries, it cools the wet bulb below the dry bulb. Check the temperature difference on the chart to find humidity — the exact cell is highlighted for you! ☁️ Next: dew, fog, and clouds. They are actually the same phenomenon! Cool the air, and water vapor turns into droplets — it just depends on where it cools. Move the slider to cool it down. Below the dew point, droplets appear on leaves, fog over fields, and clouds in the sky. Air cools by 1℃ for every 100 m it rises! 🎯 Try reading the chart in the challenge. Supports 7 languages.

Air Pressure and Wind

Why does the wind blow? ⚖️ Start with the weight of air. Set different temperatures for two boxes of the same size. The colder side holds more particles (extra particles are orange!) and tips the scale — that's high pressure. 💨 In the Wind tab, change the temperatures of the sea and land. Watch wind blow from high to low pressure, with warm air rising to complete the loop. Tap 🌞 Day and 🌙 Night to compare sea and land breezes. Winds are named after where they blow from! 🎯 Test yourself in the Challenge. Supports 7 languages.
