How can we draw a mountain’s height on flat paper? 🍰 Slice the mountain horizontally at equal heights. The side view appears on the left and the top view on the right, making it easy to see that “each cut becomes a line.” The more closely you slice, the more lines you get—and the more detail you see. ⛰️ Now keep the height the same and change only the mountain’s width. A narrow base makes the lines bunch up; a wide base spreads them out—so “close lines mean steep slopes.” 🗺️ Finally, read a real contour map. Find the highest and lowest places between two peaks!
