Wave Interference
When two waves overlap they either add up or cancel out. Change the path difference to produce full reinforcement and full cancellation, watch a standing wave on a fixed string grow as many antinodes as the harmonic number, then move the source and hear the Doppler effect — higher coming toward you, lower going away.
