Time, Speed, and Velocity
Drive a car to calculate speed (= distance ÷ time), and discover the difference between distance and displacement. Includes the Speed Triangle challenge!
Count the Beats
Music is a game of dividing time. ⚖️ First, balance the notes: how many quarter notes equal one whole note? Then use only eighth notes to match a half note—and hear “long” and “short” as each note plays its length. 🥁 Next, fill a measure. 4/4 means “four quarter notes in one measure.” Notes that don’t fit stay out, and empty space remains if it’s not full. Fill it just right and tap “Listen” to hear the first beat ring louder. ⏱️ Last comes tempo. At 60 beats per minute, one beat is exactly 1 second; at 120, it takes half as long. The same score can sound very different at different speeds! This app was made with code too—remix it and make the rhythm of a song you know?
The Order of a Day
Can you tell what time it is just by looking outside? 🕐 You’ll see four pictures of the same room—morning, daytime, evening, and night. Look at where the sun is and the color of the sky, then choose when it is. ⏮️ Next, choose which of two comes first. Think about how a day flows to find the answer. 📋 Last, put all four pictures in order. Start with the earliest time and tap them one by one—if it’s not the right turn, it won’t stay, so take your time. There are no words in the pictures, so even children who can’t read can finish on their own. The buttons are extra large for little hands. This app was made with code too · Want to remix it with the view from your own window?
What Sleep Does
How much should we sleep in 24 hours? 🛏️ Each square is one hour. Tap the hours to split the day into sleep and awake time. When you reach the green spot, you’ve got the right amount. 🕘 Next, count backward: if you wake up at 7 a.m., what time should you go to bed? Go to bed an hour later and you lose exactly one hour of sleep—tap to check it out. 😴 Finally, watch sleep debt pile up. If you miss just 3 hours a day, how much builds up after several days? Find the day it passes half a day, then a whole day. It happens sooner than you think. This app was made with code too · Remix it and add your family’s wake-up time!.
Classroom Timer
See remaining time in a visual circle! Even children who cannot read clocks yet can tell how much time is left at a glance. ⏳ Start activity timers instantly with 1, 3, 5, 10, or 15 minutes—colors darken 10 seconds before the chime rings. ⏱️ Stopwatch measures down to 0.1s with lap records. 🔁 Rotation mode lets you set rounds like '4 mins x 5 turns' with automatic chimes between turns—perfect for group presentations! Great teaching tool, supports 7 languages.
Waiting Games
⏳ 🐰 now, 🐢 in 1 second — set timers like this, and things won't happen in the exact order you wrote them! Watch your scheduled events pop up along the timeline. 🔮 In Predict the Order, read the code and guess what shows up first. Setting a 0-second delay while the line below runs first is the coolest surprise here! A 1-second delay beats a 2-second delay, and if both are set to 1 second, the first one scheduled wins. 🔁 In Repeat, choose how often and how many times to loop. In the final mission, try forgetting to stop on purpose — watching it go forever shows why stop conditions matter. Made with code · Remix this to build your own schedule!
Speed
Which is faster: 30m in 10s or 15m in 2s? 🏃 Change distance and time to fill in the formula, then press ▶ to run at that speed! It even compares it to a bike or a car. ⚖️ In Versus mode, two runners race on the same track scale — don't just look at distance! Explore equal distance, equal time, or both changing. 🎯 Calculate speed and compare fastness in Challenge mode. Supports 7 languages.
